One of South Africa’s best house Djs. Nkosinathi Maphumulo A.K.A Black Coffee is not only a house Dj but a music producer of soulful sounds as well.

Growing up Black Coffee always had a thing for music. How he found love puzzles me the Dj married the beautiful Mbali an actress from our television screens. Ensuring that their lives are filled with lights,camera,action and lots of musical notes.

Having studied music theory his career was bound to involved fans that love good music. Dj Black Coffee created the group Shana when he joined Redbull Academy. He decided to leave the coast for the inner city in search for success in Johannesburg. Who would have thought playing at local clubs who earn him SAMA awards and a lot more.

Black Coffee founded Soulistic Music, in 2005 and was later joined by DJ Kabila and Tumelo, however DJ Kabila left the label to leave the label to explore other possibilities after introducing to the label a high school DJ/Producer Culoe De Song who was only 17 years of age at that time.

The Black Coffee foundation is a project the Durban born Dj started. The foundation which is founded by Black coffee himself aims at being the most efficient fund-raising entity made to improve social cohesion of disabled people and orphanages. With a mission like that no wonder he’s able to Dj his heart out.

You’ve got to love the way music changes lives. The beat never stops and it will forever be as strong as Black Coffee.
